Rick and Gwen Shorter

Rick and Gwen Shorter resided in New York City during their showbusiness careers, and since adopting the Seventh-day Adventist message, in 1970, have dedicated themselves to the Medical Missionary work.
The first four and one half years of their ministry were spent in New York City operating a "Christian" vegetarian restaurant.
Leaving for the "country" in 1975, the Shorters migrated to upstate New York where they began their family, and now have three children, Promise, Hope and Christian.
They have operated two other vegetarian restaurants, which finally evolved into the manufacturing and distribution of Sister Shorter's "healthier health foods." During the twenty-two years of operating their health food business, they have traveled extensively throughout North America and the Caribbean, sharing their testimony and original Christ-centered music. The Shorter's have produced an album of their music entitled "The End."
The Shorters have been invited to educational institutions on all levels, evangelistic services, camp meetings, various churches and church conferences.
As a result of their experiences in the "worldly world" of show business, the authors have tried to enunciate the distinctive contrast between the world's standard and God's standard in all areas of Christian life. And so, some of their Christ-centered presentations have included such topics as health (diet and nutrition), dress, music, competitive sports, theater and drama, love - courtship and marriage, education, righteousness by faith, the pillars of our faith and other related subjects.
Whether making health foods, giving seminars or singing, their one purpose is to uplift Jesus Christ and share Him with all they meet.
Rick and Gwen's desire to serve the Lord in every area of their life led to the publication of a book entitled, "Thy Nakedness, Lord What Shall I Wear?" Gwen's years in modeling provided her with great insight in the area of dress and she combines that knowledge with the wisdom of the Spirit of Prophecy writings on the subject. The result is an excellent compilation on the subject of dress for both men and women and perfect to use for personal study, group study or as a student text book.
